What happens when the biggest boy band in the world announces that they are going on a year-long hiatus? The sound of a million hearts shattering to pieces becomes the world’s number one heartbreak song.
The report issued by People confirmed that British-Irish boy band One Direction will go on an extended break, starting March 2016, in order for its members to concentrate on solo projects. Due to their hiatus, there won’t be a tour for the boys’ fifth album that is anticipated to be out later this year. It was also mentioned that Harry, Liam, Niall, and Louis would promote the album until February.
Rumors circulated that the four-piece musical group was splitting up, and the boys were quick to correct the false news as stated in an article on E!
Niall Horan posted on Twitter:
Ok so Lots of rumours going round. We are not splitting up, but we will be taking a well earned break at some point next year

1D’s decision to take a long break transpired days after the music video for their new single, “Drag Me Down,” was released.
