Hey, Germs! We’re at the halfway point for camp now, and I’m just about halfway through my writing goal. Usually I’m a pretty regular writer for Nation Novel Writing Month things, but this month I’m having spurts. I wrote 5,000 words the other day but haven’t managed anything hugely significant since then.
The camp experience is quite nice! My cabin isn’t hugely talkative, but there’s one person who is really engaging. We’re having fun trading our favorite bits and pieces of our stories back and forth. I hope that your cabins are at least as fun as mine!
Usually for NaNoWriMo, the first week goes pretty swimmingly because of the excitement of something shiny and new; but, by week two and three, you’re starting to feel the strain of writing so much in such a small amount of time. But keep your head up! You can do this. I promise that you can. Set aside dedicated writing time. One of my favorite things is to have hour-long word wars/sprints with my writing buddies on Tumblr. The time limit really helps me with my focus issues.
So, here we are. Halfway there. Keep up the writing guys. See you at the end of the month!
