US Olympic figure skater Ashley Wagner made history the other day by achieving a 221.02 score at the 2015 US Figure Skating Nationals. The 23-year-old performed a flawless routine (set exclusively to music from Moulin Rouge, making it double flawless) and positively nailed her third US Figure Skating Championships title. It’s a personal best for the figure skater who — by figure skating standards — is nearing retirement age (for context, Michelle Kwan is the record holding oldest US women’s champion at only 25 years old). Wagner’s routine and technique is beautiful to watch, and so is the victory and record she’s fought so hard to achieve.
