High schoolers Danielle Layman (left) and I (right) volunteered with Make-A-Wish Foundation to help Natalie’s wish come true.
Have you ever had a wish? Natalie did. Her dream was to meet Anna and Elsa from Frozen and to visit Disney World. This may seem like many girls’ dreams nowadays, but Natalie is not your typical four-year-old girl.
Unfortunately, Natalie was diagnosed with cancer last year. Since then, the Make a Wish Foundation has made it their goal to fulfill her dream. The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a non-profit organization that grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses across the US.
Danielle and I appeared to Natalie and her family as Elsa and Anna from Disney’s movie Frozen to present Natalie with her trip to Walt Disney World. I can still remember the way that Natalie and her family looked at me. To them, it really was a dream come true.
After giving the news to Natalie, Danielle and I played with her toys (Anna and Elsa Barbie dolls), read her books (undoubtedly about Frozen), and took pictures with her. Although I only got to spend a few hours with Natalie, I will never forget about her or the impact she has made on my life. Natalie has been a huge inspiration to me. Being able to help her only confirmed my dream of acting. After college, I will audition to become a Disney princess in Disney World and will help children every day to make their dreams come true.
After Natalie’s trip, her parents posted pictures of their family meeting all of the princesses. This vacation was not only a dream come true, but it gave her the strength to keep battling cancer. You go, Natalie!
