I’m kind of in the “let’s think about all the complicated stuff” mood right now. You know, new year, new me, etc. Just the usual things. So, let’s talk about fear and motivation.
The theme of fear has always fascinated me, and it’s interesting to see how people react to fear. Some of us get terrified and just freeze — unable to do anything. Or, because of our fear of failure, we risk missing great opportunities by never trying things in the first place. Unfortunately, I belong to this group.
But there are others: others who face their fears, who use them as motivation, who make fun of their fears. I respect these people a lot because this is what bravery means to me: being able to overcome your fears and overcome your circumstances.
If you haven’t heard of Jen Campbell, she is the writer who wrote the Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops series and The Bookshop Book. I love this woman. She is funny, honest, and really brave.
Her latest video inspired this post. I think we should all use our fear to become better people. One more resolution added to my list. Here I come, fear.

P.S. Haven’t we all been saved by books at least once in our life?
