Happy Valentine’s Day, dearest readers!
There’s not much to say about this commercialized mush-fest that hasn’t already been said, so I’ll leave you all with the top 3 quotes about love that I — in all my 22 years of infinite wisdom and experience — have determined to be The Best. When I say The Best, I mean that these sayings truly encompass what love really is: less a mushy sentiment, and more a course of action. And so, without further ado:
1. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. — 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
2. Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope. — Maya Angelou
3. Love is a verb; it’s an action, not a feeling. — My mom
Finally, to round out this deep and introspective time of instruction, I will leave you with perhaps the greatest collection of thoughts on love that has ever existed: “The Elephant Love Song Medley” from Moulin Rouge (arguably one of the most incredible films ever made).
Enjoy, mon amies.
