The teaser trailer for the live-action version of The Jungle Book is upon us! I must say that I’m quite excited after seeing the trailer, especially because I had forgotten about the rumor that this movie was being made. Since the snake can apparently talk, I’m hoping that the other animals can and will also. Some may find this unrealistic, but you have to admit that if you grew up surrounded by animals in a jungle, you’d probably have some method of communicating with them and understanding them as well — and it’s a movie.
Although there has, technically, already been a live-action movie of The Jungle Book that came out in 1994, it’s storyline was very different from the animated Disney movie, and the story mainly revolved around a Mowgli in his late teens or twenties.
I’m looking forward to this new adaptation as it focuses on a young Mowgli (Neel Sethi) and as it reintroduces some of our favorite characters. I, for one, got quite giddy and nostalgic when the tune of “The Bare Necessities” was whistled in the last few seconds of the trailer.
