On May 30-31, BookCon took place at The Javits Center in New York City. Thousands of readers, authors, and companies came together in the place where “storytelling and pop culture collide.”
There were plenty of books to browse, people to talk to and panels to listen to. One panel discussed the creating process when writing. One piece of advice was to “do something small everyday; figure out what your small chunk of work is and make sure you get it done.”
In addition to panels, readers had the opportunity to meet their favorite authors. I was able to meet Jennifer Niven, along with other fans of All the Bright Places who are inspired by her every day! Some author popular writers who attended BookCon 2015 included John Green, Rainbow Rowell, and Mindy Kaling.
All together, the day was so much fun! It was very inspiring to be surrounded by many talented writers and avid readers. BookCon is an amazing convention that I recommend to all those who are fans of the written word.
