All of us are broken — some more than others. Some have been fixed, some could be fixed, some don’t even try to be fixed. But, unfortunately, very few of us talk about it.

This is a problem that bothers me a lot. Not only do we not talk about our problems, but we also don’t care about others. Look at a street on a busy day. We live in a world where we are all just running, staring into our phones, trying to catch our metro, bus, or something to get to our destinations.

Do I think that if we stop for just a minute, we could save lives? I can’t be 100% sure, but we need to at least try.

I want to focus, though, on a totally different theme. Who is afraid to talk about their problems? I am. Why? I don’t want to be considered weak and mentally unstable.  Because, let’s be honest, the stigma surrounding mental illness is real, and we are the ones who create it.

We create these tags, classify people in different groups, think that they are wrecked or unstable; we are afraid to trigger them, so what is our resolution? To just stay quiet. Never talk about it. Who knows, maybe these issues will resolve themselves?

I wrote this post because I want to tell you something very important: Don’t be afraid to talk! And don’t be afraid to listen to one another. Let’s be there if someone needs us. Let’s be brave and share our experiences. Who knows, maybe your story could save the life of another.

If you want to talk or to share, there is a link in the video’s description box on YouTube where you can join the conversation on mental health. The description box also has links to the different charities mentioned in the video.

We all have the chance to be there for each other. Will we?
