I’ve been searching for a good drugstore bronzer for a while now. I’ve tried a few, but most of them happen to be either too shiny and with too much shimmer or too orange for me. Still being on the lookout for the perfect one, I decided to give the NYC Big Bold bronzing powder a go. I got it in the color 601 ManhaTan, which is the lightest shade they have.

At first glance, I really like that the packaging is huge! It’s about the size of your hand. With that said, you would think it would last you ages to finish, but if you take a look at the ingredients, it signifies otherwise. The first ingredient in the bronzer is talc. For those of you who don’t know, talc is a common ingredient in drugstore powders. Talc typically gives powder more fall out and  causes it to wear away quickly. This basically means that you’ll actually go through it quicker. On another note, I think the packaging could have been more elevated; it kind of gives away the fact that it is a drugstore bronzer.

The bronzer itself has a fine amount of glitter running through it, which I’m also not a big fan of. When blended on the skin, though, the glitter is barely noticeable. This makes it suitable for contouring and varying coverage. The bronzer has a red undertone, but, again, I don’t think this totally translates onto the skin. Even on my pale skin, it looks very natural. Like I said, it’s a very fine and highly pigmented powder, which means it is easy to blend  out.

Overall, I really do think this is a very good product for those of you who do not want to break the bank on a new bronzer!

The NYC Big Bold Bronzer retails for only £2.99 (~$4.66).
