At last, 2015 is upon on us, and with a new year comes new movies! I’d tell you to calm your rapturous cheers of joy, but I also cannot wait for all of the new films that have made for our viewing pleasure. With that in mind, for you — my dear movie lovers — I have compiled a list of movies to get excited about. Here are some of the movies that should be on your must-see list for 2015.

Insurgent, the sequel to the adaptation of Veronica Roth’s Divergent: Tris (Shailene Woodley) continues her fight against her corrupt government in this futuristic dystopian thriller.

In The Hunger Games: Mockinjay Part 2, the battle between Katniss and the Capitol will come to an exhilarating close. Just a tip, you might want to bring tissues.

The sequel to James Dashner’s The Maze Runner, The Scorch Trials follows the Gladers, who have recently escaped the Maze and must face a new set of challenges in a world that is plagued by solar flares and diseases.

Not quite so dystopian, the apocalyptic thriller San Andreas is the story of a rescue chopper pilot who travels across California to find his daughter after a giant earthquake is caused by the San Andreas Fault.

Jurassic World takes place twenty-two years after the incidents – to put it lightly – of Jurassic Park. With visitor rates declining, a new attraction is created, which backfires horribly. You would think that after three movies, they would have learned that dinosaurs do not mesh well with theme parks.
