I have to admit. When I was watching this performance live, I flinched every time she grabbed the skirt of her dress, expecting for her to rip it off at any moment and to have a crazy costume underneath it. And yet, to my surprise, Lady Gaga’s entire performance was void of her usual flair and antics.

Instead, we were all treated with a beautiful tribute of The Sound of Music, and those of us that don’t know much about Lady Gaga were shown the immense talent she truly possesses.

One of the greatest moments was having the regal Julie Andrews come out at the end, give Lady Gaga a hug, and then say the words, “Dear Lady Gaga, thank you for that wonderful tribute” with heartfelt sincerity. With her British accent, and with the eloquence in which she always seems to speak, the sound “gaga” was never one I expected to hear come out of her mouth.

The above video is the best I could find of last night’s performance, but, unfortunately, it does an odd job of taking a few seconds out of the middle of the performance and sticking it back in at the very end of the video.
