You may not know artist Glen Keane by name, but you certainly know him by his resume. His animation credits include The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Pocahontas, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Over the past three years — after leaving Disney to pursue other avenues of art — Keane has taken his mastery of 2D animation to create this small, simple piece about a ballerina ascending to new heights, created especially for the Paris Opera. It’s art like this that provides the much needed proof to the world that 2D is not dead.
