There are certain people
In your life
childhood,
the memories they bring
the innocence
pureness
before the corruption
of your family.
before the darkness
of the world.
before knowing the hardness
in being alive.
bringing memories
you forget you had
forgot we’re possible
when you liked your family
no hate
no grudge
no guilt for not
loving them some people.
Certain people
from childhood
resurrect from
the grave.
reminding
you of
the summer
8th grade
humid air,
mosquitos buzz
stars shining
though the clouds.
Some people
Bring out
The best in you.
The memories of
What once was.
The innocent that lived
In you.
Before the world
Tore you apart
Piece by piece.

To them, I say thank you, for remembering me.
