Children with Autism Are Given Special One-on-One Time with Santa

As the video explains, Caring Santa is “an event put on by Autism Speaks and other organizations to give kids affected by autism a chance to have a more typical experience with Santa.”

Caring Santa gives autistic children more time with Santa, which gives them a chance to adjust and become comfortable with this bearded man in the large red suit. The kids are given around 15-20 minutes each with Santa, and Santa gives the children the patience and care that they deserve.

The picture of Santa getting down to the one boy’s level, going so far as to lie on the ground with him, is especially heartwarming. As someone who knows quite a few autistic children, I’m so glad that events like Caring Santa exist to give them the childhood experience of visiting Santa.
