The X-Files Is Back with a YA Spin

Audiences fell in love with Fox Mulder on the classic television series The X-Files, but he is back and better than ever before; only now, readers get to be introduced to him as a teenager. The X-Files Origins: Agent of Chaos, released on January 3rd, is a YA novel that any lover of the supernatural is sure to enjoy. With plenty of intrigue, mystery, romance, and a cast of quirky and memorable characters, Kami Garcia has brought the excitement of the TV series back to audiences, providing Mulder’s wit and excellent detective skills for a new generation.

The story begins with a missing child: an idea that Mulder is very familiar with, having lost his sister to an unexplained disappearance. All he knows is that one minute she was there, and the next the front door was open and she was nowhere to be seen. Gone. When he discovers that the current case is more mysterious than even the cops understand, Mulder and his sidekick, Gimble, decide to investigate, trying to get to the bottom of these sudden abductions. When connections start to form between his sister’s disappearance and the children who have gone missing, Mulder begins to see that something very sinister is occurring, and he needs answers. Where have the children gone? Who is taking them? And most importantly, will Mulder and Gimble be able to solve the mystery before another innocent victim faces their demise?

The X-Files Origins: Agent of Chaos is a novel that was highly engaging. From page one, the characters stick inside of your brain and won’t let go (in the best way possible). It was difficult for me not to be constantly running the clues through my head throughout my day, trying to solve the case alongside Mulder. The story is one that captivated me and can easily be called one of the most interesting mysteries I have read in a long while. Told with humor, heart, and plenty of thrilling moments, Kami Garcia’s latest will not disappoint.

His sister is missing, and the disappearances are continuing. Someone, or something, is out there, and they are not going down without a fight. The X-Files Origins: Agent of Chaos brings the fun of a complex mystery as well as the dramatic and comical moments that come with high school.
