The Write the World team is SO thrilled to announce that our Album Review Writing Competition is now open! This is your chance to peruse your music library and review an album that moved or inspired you in some way. A good album review considers the artist’s influences, their previous work, and the broader social and/or musical context in which they operate. And also, perhaps most challengingly, it attempts to capture the artist’s sound through words.

If you submit a draft of your work by April 6th, you’ll have the opportunity to receive feedback from our team of expert reviewers. We encourage you to submit something at this stage — and remember, a draft can be FAR from perfect! A fresh set of eyes on your writing can be invaluable as you polish your final piece. Final submissions are due April 14th. The winner will be chosen by industry veteran, Chadwick Stokes (of Dispatch and State Radio).
